Our Programs

Food & Beverage Program

Hunger can influence individuals from varying backgrounds. Numerous Georgians are one occupation misfortune or clinical emergency away from food uncertainty – yet a few people, including youngsters and seniors, might be at more serious danger of yearning than others. Able Housing Services Corp is attempting to give Food and every day nourishing items in the communities of Georgia.

All recipients will be able to enjoy food and beverages with us. Recipients are able to select their items and enjoy a balanced meal and be hydrated.

Medical Relief (COVID-19)

The COVID-19 pandemic denotes a phenomenal time in present day history that will require the best of mankind to survive. This emergency compromises everybody’s lifestyle, except it is particularly hard for individuals who are as of now powerless, incorporating those with previous ailments, Starving and Hungry people, more established grown-ups, people encountering vagrancy, wage laborers, and those with resolute employments. As the world spotlights on forestalling the spread of COVID-19. Able Housing Services Corp is working efforts to help communities in this pandemic with fundamental services of life.

We will supply PPE, hand sanitizers, and gloves.  Perform basic health assessments.  Temperature, pulse, blood pressure checks, and basic health questionnaire.

Education

We provide training for youth, teens and adults to learn new skills that are in demand for our climate. The training is provided virtually and in person by appointment only. For the youth, we offer tutoring services to help make learning fun.

Housing Program

For the unsheltered: Continuum of Care and Coordinated Entry Program. This program is designed to assess and track those who need immediate shelter. Hours of Operation are 24/7 for intake. Outreach and Placement is from M-S – 9a-3p

Transitional Housing: This program is designed for individuals who are leaving addiction centers, foster homes, extended stays, and other temporary housing.

Short Term Housing: This program is for at risk youth, teens, runaways, alien and foreign children.

Permanent Housing: This program is for individuals and families who are working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week and need affordable living arrangements.

Housing Referrals: We will put you on a waiting list if there are no housing available and refer out housing to other agencies.

Clothing Center

We can serve as many as 10 families per day. We have clothing of all sizes from infants to adults. We accept all items in good to fair condition. M-F from 9a-4p.

Recipient Education Program

The R.E.P. provides the following items: hygiene kits, water, phone, clothing closet, storage lockers, and public toilets. We link the recipients to the following resources:

  • Reunification opportunities
  • Mental health services
  • Substance abuse services
  • Employment services
  • Housing services
  • Veterans’ services (via Atlanta VA Medical Center, upcoming)

Apprenticeship & Employment Programs

When the recipient is on boarded, they go through a program of certain activities such as skills, health and wellness training, financial literacy training, mental and physical capacity readiness, and basic essentials of life of living. The recipient is assessed for work readiness. Once successfully completed, they will go on for placement with Employers.

Disaster Assistance

If you are experiencing homelessness, are in threat of eviction, or other disaster or emergency related situation contact us at 770-415-5363. Please be sure to provide your correct name, location and a number to reach you in case we are disconnected. We will place you in a property owned or managed by us or by our partners. Some facilities might be shared with other recipients or residents. Please notify us if you have any children that accompany you and let us know of any additional services that may be needed. We will let you know of any onsite availability or upcoming beds.

Financial Literacy

Every recipient will undergo financial literacy training. They will learn the basics of creating a budget, identifying the cost of items in stores, setting goals. Determining needs versus wants. In addition to starting a savings plan, they will have the ability to open a free checking and savings account. Recipients who complete the financial literacy training will walk away with the tools they need to succeed in their day-to-day lives.

Transportation

We will coordinate pick-up and drop off locations for recipients who will enter the program. AHSC will also assist in transporting to and from employment interviews as needed.

Participant Acknowledgment

1. We do Assessment/Intake.
2. We check for availability and collect entry fee on https://ablehsc.org. Click the Donate tab.
3. Move into temporary housing.
4. Complete the weekly tasks that consist of ANY of the program areas: Housing, Finance, Food, Health and Wellness, Education, Work, Transportation, Disaster Assistance. You complete tasks by reaching out and discussing what you’ve done. You must do this for at least 30 days and make progress. Upon availability, you will go to the next step.
5. Move into transitional housing and continue to work on specific program tasks and complete assessment with case manager.
6. Prepare for long term housing and complete another assessment.
7. Graduate and prepare for your apartment or rental house. You will receive great gifts to help you in your first month.

The program may be altered and discussed with each participant as needed. We will work hand in hand to ensure you are on the right track. Our goal is to ensure your success and your path to self-sufficiency. We require a minimum of $65 to enter the program. This helps with the programming of the shelter and the funds are tax-exempt.
